100! and a (closed now) competition

My 100th post!!

I started this blog back in January because I wanted a space of my own to share my work and obsession passion for knitting. A place to share my stuff, go on and on about knitting and Wips and yarn and to share ideas and ways of doing things. In the beginning I didn't realise how much fun this little blog would be and how many awesome cyber/blog friends I would make, finding tons of great blogs to inspire me and learn things from and make connections with other knitting folk.

My little corner of the internet has been a lot of fun!

So to celebrate 100! and because I want to...a competition.

Here's what you have to do to enter:

Leave a comment on this post with
1. Your name and a way of contacting you (email, Ravelry name, TNN name or a link back to your blog etc)
2. your favourite baby related knitting pattern (toy, clothing, anything that would make a nice gift for a new baby). I'd prefer online (free or pay is fine) patterns so leave me the Rav link or link to actual pattern.
3. A link to a blog you think I might enjoy reading. Doesn't have to be knitting, anything interesting is fine. A list of blogs I read is on the sidebar.

2. & 3. are optional - I'm just looking for some new ideas :) You must do 1. of course and you must make sure I can contact you as it would be a bit hard to email 'anonymous'

The winner will be drawn by random number generator or if there's only 5 of you I'll get DD to draw a number out of a hat or something.

Prize is yet to determined. Hmm let's see.....
I'll make you something. There'll also be some yarn. Probably something to eat as well and something 'kiwi' perhaps.
Entries close on midnight Thursday 12 June (my time).
I promise to post the prize sometime in the next few months (you'll have to be patient), and I will post internationally so no excuses for not entering heh.

Hi, Viv here (fron TNN), love to see your knitting, can't recommend any patterns tho sorry, as I can't really knit I don't look at patterns cause it makes me depressed that I can't make them. Sewing is so much easier :-)

Hi Gabes. 100 posts already! You definantly blog more often than me lol.

I have a few blogs that I like reading. is a great one for ideas for the kids.

My fav knitting pattern so far would probably have to be the checkleton longies pattern simply because it is so simple and adaptable. Not available online but I have posted it on a knitting thread somewhere on TNN.

My favorite baby knit is the upside down flower baby hat. I couldn't find a link to the pattern online. I got the pattern out of a discontinued magazine. So if you want it just email me and I will get it to you. I'm not sure how the copyright thing works if I was just to post the pattern on the internet.

Congratulations on 100 postings!

Blog I enjoy-

Hi this is Alana from the nevernotknitting blog.

One of my favorite toys for little ones are out of this awesome book "Dream Toys" by Claire Garland. I am working on some dolls right now for my daughter.

A blog that I have been reading for years that I really enjoy is
It is a girl in her twentys with 3 little kids who manages to knit, spin and cook up a storm. Shes so talented, you gotta check her out.

Hi there - great idea!

I often knit baby gear but can't think of a pattern. Sartje's booties is a good easy one although I'm about to start a nikau hoodie by just jussi this week for one of my students who is having a baby and it is going to be early cause of her medical problems so I better get cracking.
A blog I enjoy reading is
Some great knitting by a mum who works!

Congrats on your 100th post! I have knit a couple of baby blankets and hats from the Stitch 'n Bitch book--the Big Bad Baby Blanket and the Umbilical Cord Hat...not online, but you could probably figure them out just by looking at photos. I haven't made the Saarjte's Bootees, but always think they look cute and quick.

Congrats on your 100 posts. That's awesome! I've enjoyed reading your blog.

My favorite baby pattern is Ellen's baby hat, found here:

I made a pair of them for a set of twins. They look so cute with the ribbons in them.

Look me up on Ravelry- same name. Cheers!

Congrats on your milestone. It all happens so fast! I enjoy reading your blog and following your projects. Keep it up!

I recently found this urban homesteader hat. I love it. I can't wait to knit it (them).

So cool that it makes room for pony and pigtails. Important for us girls! (Except I have short hair.)

And a really inspiring food blog:

Healthy, fresh, and fun.

My usual baby gift is the Ann Norling Fruit Cap (tomato) for a baby boy.
For a baby girl, I usually make my own watermelon cap: If the baby is for someone I'm really close to, I'd make a Log Cabin Baby Blanket:
