So...my FLS is finished. And yet, unfinished.
Sigh.
I used every single inch of my 10balls and instead of being able to finish the sleeves with an inch of garter ala the pattern , I only managed a couple of rows. And I have nothing left to even sew the buttons on. I bought this wool off Trademe and the person didn't have anymore.
Luckily I found a NZ stockist who is sending me an extra ball tomorrow. Fabulous service and they are only charging me actual postage. Yay! I am impressed and relieved. It won't be the same dye lot but at this point I really don't care.
This sweater has been plagued with 'issues'. I am beginning to think it is jinxed.
I had such high expectations, buoyed on the recent successes that were my CPH and Wicked. My first forays into knitting for myself had gone so well but third time has proved to be anything but lucky.
I only hope that once its done and dusted I'll be able to forgive and forget.
Damn it better look good.
In the meantime I've already moved on to planning my next knit.

Is the FLS cursed? I have heard a lot of people getting frustrated with it, so maybe so! At least you were able to find some extra yarn to finish it off. Then you can move onward and upward! The Cherry sweater is amazing.
Glad you found the extra yarn, I'm sure it'll be worth the trouble in the end :-) The Cherry sweater looks lovely!
I'm so glad you found more yarn! I'm sure it will look beautiful on you once it's finished.
it had to happen eventually--the sweater knitting crisis. not to worry, it just makes you an official sweater knitter, and the pain is short-lived.
You will forgive and forget. If I don't feel "the love" for a project immediately, sometimes it takes putting it in a drawer for a few weeks and then "rediscovering it" with lesser expectations. That being said, you are probably being way too hard on yourself and it will look terrific when it is finally done!
I don't know why but I always feel terribly guilty when not enjoying knitting, somehow I feel that I have failed the person who designed and the pattern.
But I sure that the FLS will look amassing on you!
The Cherry sweater looks fab.
What colour are you thinking of?
I'm sure the FLS will be great once done. And Cherry - well, what a lovely little knit - another great choice!
Wow. Close call. It'll be done in no time now. Very kind of the supplier!
And I've never seen Cherry. That's lovely. I might have to consider that myself.
OMG hun thats my LYS lol!!!! the lady there is lovely, was very interested in my cake dyed wool :P
Oh no - so very close! I would have just taken myself off and wept. So glad youve found another ball.
I hadnt seen cherry before either, but I likey, very very much. Might just wander off and queue that one....
Oh I love the look of the Cherry cardy! Good luck - I think I'll let you knit it first and see if it works well, then copy :P
