For Sharon - wool for my FLS. Its Cleckheaton Country12ply - a bulk lot on TM that I got at a very nice price. I thought 10balls sounded like heaps but now I work out I have 780 yards and the pattern says 850yards......one size down I would need 750yards so I am close. Options include trying to track down some more (havent checked but knowing my luck this will be a discontinued colour or something), weaning the baby (should result in an inch or 2 less in that department), a mission diet to lose a couple of inches (oh the things I will do for my craft) or shorter sleeves/length. (BTW just kidding about the weaning....I'll go the easy option of shorter sleeves I think).
I like the colour.... I think......but I do worry that it might be a little bit "little-old-lady-ish" ?? I'm currently thinking I could do oversized black buttons or something to try and modern it up a little? Thoughts?
And for Julie who asked about the summery dress I am making for M1. I'm doing the garter stitch bodice in The Wool Company Flamingo and the skirt in Watermelon, also by The Wool Company.
The Flamingo is leftover from the shorts I made here and is a lovely match with the Watermelon (I've used about 50 or so grams for the bodice). Its a shame they don't do this colour anymore as I hear the new pinks this season are harder to match with watermelon. Coming along nicely...

I was thinking of doing the same dress in those colours to go over Em's gorgeous frilly knitted knickers you made her. The girls can be matching hehe. I've still got a hank of the Flamingo so happy I stashed it now lol.
Wow, I love the watermelon yarn, gotta get me some of that!!! The dress is looking really gorgeous, can't wait to see the finished product. You must be a super fast knitter, I am still at the having to concentrate really hard on what I am knitting stage so can only really knit when the kids are in bed!
Definite career in photography for your little one, takes better photo's than me....X
Must say, the FLS yarn does nothing for me (but you knew I would say that). On the other hand, the rainbow dress in those colours is GORGEY!
LOL, and are you being a knitting geek....looks like your stitch markers match your WIP ;) Sounds like something I would do.....
Thanks Gabes...I hadn't thought of that yarn. I'm loving the Dream in Color Classy that people are using but ouchie spendie! I would so wear that colour (but then I AM a granny!) and I love the idea for big black buttons.
you are so are not sharon!!
kelly...they are my yarn swappy ones :) and yeah they do match hehe, not intentional though...honest!
think the blue will only look old ladyish if you make matching pants to go with it ;)
love love love the dress, soo annoying they don't do flamingo any more, doesn't look quite so bright and girly using avocado.
I had to go back and check out the stitch markers I never even noticed them as I was mesmerized by the beautiful pink WIP.
Oh lovely Gabes!
I am still trying to decide what to use for my FLS. Such difficult decisions :D
The colours of that dress are just so gorgeous. I now also see how you use your markers - I loved the one you showed in the previous post but as I don't knit I didn't know what you did with them! By coincidence a crochet pattern I read yesterday called for a marker - so I might just have to get myself something as pretty as yours! x
That dress looks like it is going to be adorable! Love the color combo.
I think black buttons would look great with that blue - definitely not granny.
And if you need more yarn, I'm happy to check out the shops here (in Aus), the other thing you can do is post an ISO in the Aus Knitters group on Ravelry, or you can ring the ACS (who make Cleckheaton) mill and see if they have any - let me know if you need any help!
Love the dress! The colors are great, and the FLS will be gorgeous in that color!
what a yummy colour, looks like strawberry ice cream! I love it.xx
