Simple Pleasures

Enjoying the simple pleasures

Our first al fresco dinner now that spring is here
P9161640

Complete with greens grown in our very own garden! Spinach grown outside and lettuce grown inside on the windowsill

Having fun creating our own parcels of dinner - rice paper rolls - the kids love these - lots of fun and important for us they are dairy and gluten free (and added bonus, very inexpensive). Usually we have chicken but these were tinned salmon with soy sauce ( flavours that are reminiscent of sushi).

We sure are enjoying the warmer weather! It's amazing how a little sunshine is so invigorating and inspiring. I'm even....spring cleaning!!!

And then we got hit by the freezing cold weather today! I finished the ribbed cardy and then went out and bought the book! Am onto second project (Eyelet vest) and have redone it as I really, really mucked up the k2tog, skpo part! Might have to talk to you when I get to that part again.... Saw your one on your blog too!

I'm very envious! We've barely had a summer here - again. Enjoy!

i still have trouble wrapping my head around the season reversal--but i think it's kind of cool that as we are moving into fall, you are moving into spring. timefor those cotton yarn projects!

Yeah it's pretty cold here in NY, they are talking about frost already.

Those wraps look pretty good, but I still have trouble wrapping my mind around sushi type food. Raw???

When I read these posts, it's a good reminder that not everyone lives in the same hemisphere as me! What a lovely outdoor meal. I wish it was almost summer here...
