How to Tuesday: No more cable needles

My current knit has me finally learning how to magic loop (easy! should have tried it earlier) and...

cabling without a cable needle!

I'm using the always brilliant instructions from Grumperina which you can find via her blog. (Left cable/front twist and Right cable/back twist ).

I think I might be saying goodbye to my cable needle now

WHy has your OWLs progress bar gone back to 10%? eek...I hope thats not true
So pleased you've found ML. It is the best technique! I'm not so fond of cabling w/o a cable needle - I'm faster at using the needle than not...just practice I need I think

Oh, I am w-a-y too much of a scaredy cat to try cabling without a needle. Dropped stitches are the death of me! I might pop over and check out those instructions though, just in case Im feeling super-brave one day....

I have one of those fance cable necklaces and I love it, it makes cables seem fun.

Now magic loop, well I couldn't get it, yet

Good for you! I find magic loop so much easier than all those dpns constantly stabbing me. And cables are SO much faster without the needle!

I've just learned magic loop too - yay cos dpns always seem to get tangled up in my sleeves! I can only cable without a cable needle when only 1 stitch needs to be moved. For 2 or more I have to use a cable needle.
