Picot edging. So simple but such a lovely finish (and I like Wool Company's Amber too)
Knitting with bamboo/wool. So soft, perfect for little baby things
Reading books by Barbara Erskine. This one is new: "Warrior's Princess". If you haven't read Lady Of Hay you are missing out on a seriously great read.
The smell of freshly picked lemons
YarnADu hand dyed wool. Wow this is seriously pretty, made by talented Fi. Not for me I'm afraid, but now I've seen in real life I think I'll have to put this at the top of my covet list!
This flickr group. The person who thought this up is a genius. Basically its an online karmic clothes swap (NZ only sorry) - you list clothing you dont want anymore and post it off to anyone interested in it, and if someone else lists something you like, you get it sent to you. So far I've got a couple of groovy things coming to live with me and I'm sending off a couple of things. Love it.
And edit because I forgot one....
Listening to my almost 3yo practising her counting....one....two....sick....ten
LoL I just love it!
I love the sound of the flickr group - how cool!
ReplyDeleteI also love the look of the picot edge - I just hate making them!
Love the wool by Fi, it's devine! Our Flickr group is the best thing ever! xx
ReplyDeleteohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh is it good huh huh huh? do I spend $35 and get it?? I dropped major hint to Scotty the other day as I stroked the book at the book shop lol. Then again with the dramas unfolding here I might have a bub next week and no time to read lol
ReplyDeleteteehee on the counting we get 1 2 4 8 9 10
That wool is divine. Such a beautiful combo of colours.
ReplyDeleteMust check out the flickr group. Fab idea.
Yay - you got the wool, and I hope you like it.....
ReplyDeletePlease let me know what you knit with it - there was about 120g, so enough to make something nice for your children - shame about not enough for you!
mmm..yes, love picot edging. sounds like it's one of those small things appreciation days, how wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI am waiting impatiently to find out the gender of my friend's baby. I've been eyeing the bamboo/wool blend and there is a huge list of baby-knits I want to make.
ReplyDeleteBTW, your picot edging is impeccable.
I love picot hems too. Did you sew the hem up or knit it with the cast on stitches? I've always found this really tricky and wimped out to the sewing option.
ReplyDelete1, 2, sick, 4..lol :D
Lemons - for a girl from the middle of England I never tired of going outside to pick a lemon, from *my* tree in *my* garden - it was the best ever!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust looked at the flickr group - what a great idea, will definitely be looking up when we get settled. x
Sorry that I didn't let you know my meme was up, but glad you had a look anyway. I am rubbish at following rules!!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to look out for that author, I love reading and it is always great when you find a new author. I have also been meaning to join THAT flickr group.
Gogeous yarn, can't wait to see what you knit up with that! Oh yeah and I would love to meet up sometime. email me anytime on julieedlin@hotmail.com
ps. Is that a Dulce and Zoet sling I see you using in a previous post? If so do you have any problems with it? I have one and it seems to cut into Lola's legs, I am pretty sure it is not too small though. Anyway just wondering... have a great day..X
there are some seriously smile-worthy things there. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour picot edging turned out beautiful! Love the yarn it's made with too.
ReplyDeleteI would covet that hand dyed wool too. Just beautiful!
Those are great things to smile about!
